“Not only are your creations absolutely incredible, but your website is well laid out and informative! I especially enjoyed the ‘how they’re made’ and ‘about the artist’ pages.”

How to Get a Head Without Hunting
This is the home of Merikay MacKenna’s original animal head sculptures. They are not real animals, nor are they soft-stuffed plush toys. These wall-mount creatures are based on hand-made accurate hard sculptures, covered with man-made fur or textured fabric. Their eyes are also hand-made, as are their teeth, horns, or antlers if any. For more about “the craft behind the creatures”, see our How They’re Made section.

With these unique mixed-media sculptures, nothing has to die so that your favorite animal can be part of your home or office décor.

If you have comments, suggestions, or questions, please send an E-mail to merikay@animalhead.com, use the contact page, sign the Guestbook, or call at 1-408-353-5037. Is this a good time?
