How to Get a Head Without Hunting
Unframed Gorilla Head Sculpture
Our unframed gorilla head sculpture is simpler and more austere than his framed cousin. Our webmaster notes that while the ancient Greeks wore garlands, he hasn’t heard of gorillas doing so.

About Gorillas
While scientists say that chimpanzees may be more closely related to humans, the size, dignity, and calm nature of Gorillas make most people identify with them more closely than with the more nervous, noisy chimp.

Today, gorillas exist only in two small regions of equatorial Africa. Males average 5'6" (170 cm) tall and weigh 310-400 pounds (140-180 kg). Females seldom exceed 5' tall and have an average weight of 200 pounds (90 kg). They live about 35 years in the wild and 50 years in captivity.

Gorillas eat mostly leaves and stems, but also like fruit. They live in lightly forested areas from sea level to high mountains, but not in the deepest tropical forest where there’s no ground-level vegetation.
