About Pandas
Giant pandas live only in one high region of cool, damp bamboo forests in China. Being so remote, they were only discovered in 1869. They feed on bamboo, and look like bears but are more closely related to the raccoon. Giant pandas are among the rarest animals, numbering less than 1,000 in the wild.
